About Me
I am a retired Chief Engineer and an Alumni of India's famous
Engineering institution, University of Roorkee (Now Indian Institute of India,
Roorkee).
Post retirement I got interested in Google Earth and Google
Maps and joined the (now defunct) Google Earth Community (GEC), where I had made
more than Five thousand posts under pseudonym of CuriousJM. Google Earth
Community was subsequently closed by Google and now I am a member and a
moderator of its unofficial successor
Google Earth Community
Forums. I am also an Eight Star Local Guide of Google Maps.
I also write few blogs; all linked to my interest in Google
Earth. My most popular blog is
Travelogue of An Armchair
Traveller. It is about the lesser known but beautiful, wonderful, unique and
sometimes bizarre places around the world.
Recognising my interest in Google Earth, on the occasion of
one Billion downloads of Google Earth, they (Google) had created a web site -
One World Many Stories, wherein they have devoted a special page to my work
in GEC and in my blogs.
