Till about 10 years ago not many in Russia had heard of - Nikola-Lenivets - a small sleepy village about 170 km South-West of Moscow. However one man changed the destiny of this small village and now it is not only well known in Russia but has also become famous to the out side World especially the art lovers and has heralded an era of land art in Russia.
Nikolay Polissky a member of a Moscow's artist group Mit'ki moved to this village about 10 years ago. With the help of local residents he started creating art objects from firewood, hay, dried vines etc. Soon the fame spread and the village became a tourist spot; the locals started making money out of practically nothing. Here are images of few of the art works found around the village.
