Garden of Dolls
An amazing collection of dolls in a little green plot near the wine hill in Sabile,
Latvia. Known as "Garden of Dolls" it was created in 2006 and contains more than
200 human size dolls, all made of straw and dressed in different styles. A real
community with families, bride, bridegroom, singers, musician, fishermen,
policemen, doctor, sportsmen, and many others. Besides human figures there are few animals and objects of day to day use including playthings for children, motorcycle with
side car, computer etc.
Few dolls are added each year and there are about 250 dolls now
in the collection. It is reportedly a private collection and maintained through
donation.
