The Ju Ming museum in Jinshan, near Taipei, Taiwan is the largest outdoor museum in Taiwan and showcases the work of Taiwan's famous sculptor Ju Ming. Although known as museum in reality it is a museum cum sculpture garden or art park spread over a huge area of about 105,000 Sq Metres (~ 25 Acres).
Built by
Ju Ming himself, he looked after the entire work of planning, architectural design and construction. It took him about 12 years to complete (1999) at the cost of almost his entire savings. More than one thousand sculptures by the artist are on display in the open park and in the museum buildings. Besides his own collection, the museum also displays art works of his mentor Yu Yu Yang as well as works by world-famous artists Andy Warhol, Bernard Buffet, Joan Miro, Pablo Picasso etc.
