Mohammed Nasser el Sabah Mosque (aka Sheikh Nasser Mosque), Kuwait which is shaped like a stepped pyramid is probably the only mosque in the World with such an unusual architecture for a mosque.
Built in 1981, mosque is located in Ras-Salmiya area of Kuwait. Besides 30 x 26 metres pyramid shape main prayer hall, it also has a two storied annexe attached at the rear which houses ablution room and administrative offices etc. on the ground floor. The second floor houses a prayer section exclusively reserved for women, a library and an Islamic research centre.
The mosque complex has a covered area of 2150 sq. metres, 50 metre high minaret and cost USD 3 millions. Main architect for the mosque were Bureau D'architecture, Henri Montois, Belgium.
Because of its unusual shape, most of the foreign residents/tourists refer to it as "Pyramid Mosque"

Thanks for using my picture. You have other pix of the mosque that are better than mine and the inside is beautiful.
I know this is an old post but i must correct the information. Al Nasser Mosque was designed by Kuwaiti Engineering Group. Please remove the false claims and the link to the false claim. KEG has all the documentation to prove that it is indeed the Architect of this pyramid mosque which is located in Kuwait.
