Nature has shaped some fantastic massive chalk formations in the White Desert (Désert blanc) around the Farafra Oasis, Egypt. These were created as a result of erosion due to high velocity sandstorms in the area. Here are few masterpieces created by nature;

An excellent photo demonstrating the geological work of wind. when wind blows sand particles are lifted up in suspension and are concentrated near the desert surface leading to greater erosion at the bottom and hence this mushroom shape.
